Eric's group arrived at noon in Cordoba, so we can't start visiting this beautiful city with an empty stomach. Since they wanted to have a meat break, we presented them with a great proposal: La Mamma, a traditional pasta restaurant with a wide variety of dishes accompanied by exquisite Argentine wines.

Once satisfied, we started the tour of Manzana Jesuítica (Jesuit Block) located in the heart of the city, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000. It comprises: the Capilla Doméstica, the Monserrat National College, the Church of the Society of Jesus, the former headquarters of the National University of Córdoba and the Residence.

Our first stop was the museum and the Church of the Society of Jesus. The main church was built by the Belgian coadjutor Philippe Lamaire around 1640.  Its facade is romanesque style covered with cut stone, obtained from the hillside. The most imposing detail is observed in the vault, totally made of paraguayan cedar wood with the format of an inverted boat keel, american baroque decoration and gilt on the leaf. The altarpiece made of wood, also gilt on the leaf, stands out.

In this area we can also visit some stores or boutiques where you can find our well known leather, nice souvenirs and silver crafts.

Going to Buen Pastor, cultural center/performance space was built in 1901 as a combined chapel/monastery/women’s prison, the men’s asked to drink some beers on one of the terraces of Antares that has a beautiful view of the city, while the women’s went to visit the Church of Los Capuchinos.

This church belongs to the Franciscan Order and was chosen as the First Artificial Wonder of the City. Its construction began in 1926 and was completed in 1934.

Once the tour was over, they all got together again and expressed that they were fascinated with the city and would love to come back.
