Taking a tour with Pointer Outfitters is an excellent option for those who like personalized attention.
Allan Ray, his son and his friends specifically asked me to visit the wineries in the area and go to the best leather goods stores in Córdoba.
When we arrived at the first winery called La Caroyense, we learned the traditional wine process from vintage to bottling. When they explained the historical part of the place, everyone was amazed by the capacity of the winery and only 10% was used.
La Caroyense was born in Colonia Caroya as a Cooperative in 1930, becoming one of the most important companies in our country. This winery, designed by the engineer Italo Vigliano, underwent different extensions over time, reaching an area of ??10,000 m2 covered, with a capacity of 20 million liters. In 2001 after an unfortunate economic bankruptcy the winery ended up producing 2 million liters. Zonal shareholders acquired the industrial complex, thus initiating its activities La Caroyense S.A. and improving the quality control of its regional wines, fine (generic and varietal) special, ritual, juices and grappas.
When we went to the next winery (Terra Camiare) we were met by Virginia: the tour guide of the place. She made an exceptional tour and surprised us with her handling of English. She explained the wine process, showed us the vineyard and we finished with an excellent tasting of the best reserve wines that the winery has.
Its beginnings date back to 1929, and it was the Nanini family, of Friulan origin, who began to devote themselves to wine production. From there it begins to write the history of the winery. Currently the house is preserved, restored, space in which there is a restaurant, also an area for a variety of events, and is jointly with several machinery, which were also valued, what remains of those beginnings. The names of the products refer to the land, place and customs of the Comechingones, natives who inhabited the area. Socavón is the brand of reserve wines.
We talked a lot during the trip to Córdoba and as soon as we arrived we got off and went to a restaurant called Alcorta. Everyone ordered a different dish and the food was delicious. Once lunch was over, we headed to the leather goods stores ending this beautiful day of laughter and learning.
It was a pleasure to meet you and I hope to have you back in Argentina.
