Meeting people on a trip makes everything more exiting. This 4 men asked for a city tour to take a little break from hunting.
Joseph, Andrew, Hugh and Dath visited beautiful places in Cordoba such as The Cathedral, Saint Catalinas Passage, The Jesuit Block, amoung others. But what mostly called their attention was Trejo's House (UNIVERSIDAD NACIONAL DE CÓRDOBA).
The National University of Córdoba (UNC) is a public University of Argentina.
It is based in the city of Córdoba and was founded in 1613. It is the oldest in the country and one of the first in America. Teaching is free and secular. The nickname La Docta that Córdoba has, is because for more than two centuries it was the only University in the country. It is one of the most prestigious institutions in the country, with an important recognition also internationally.
In 1613 with the support of Bishop Juan Fernando de Trejo y Sanabria, higher education began, although without authorization to grant bachelor's degrees. In 1879, President Nicolás Avellaneda wrote a regulation on the prevention of universities operating four colleges: Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Medical Sciences, Law and Social Sciences and Philosophy and Humanities.
During the presidency of Domingo Faustino Sarmiento, science at the University gained momentum by incorporating foreign teachers specialized in hard sciences. This is how the College of Physical-Mathematical Sciences is created. The growth of the student population has made almost all colleges have their headquarters in the "University City".
When we arrived at the good sheperd there was a group of children with their teachers visiting Cordoba like us. Dath asked me to take a picture with them saying he felt like one of those children happy to make a school trip. With this group there was no way not to laugh and have fun.
I hope to see you soon!
